the policy or action of using vigorous campaigning to bring about political or social change.
What does activism have to do with a book being written about a dog? A pit bull at that. While searching for materials for making an accurate depiction of pit bulls, dogfighting, and so forth, I came across terms like Breed Specific Legislation and other anti-breed regulations. PETA. It seemed appropriate to make references to these legislative efforts. Many efforts led by people and groups oppose the ownership of pit bulls, which is the same type of fanaticism surrounding the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. Pit bulls and AR-15 rifles are only as dangerous as their owners want them to be.
Chuckie Gets Adopted
Chuckie Gets Adopted a large-print book written by Laura Winn. Although the Chuckie in this delightful book isn’t the same as the Chuckie in A Pit Bull’s Life, it is an excellent resource for dispelling the myths spread by those opposing the ‘pit bull’ breed and those who own them. Keep in mind that those who oppose the ‘pit bull’ show their ignorance by claiming the ‘pit bull’ is a breed when that isn’t entirely the truth as ‘pit bull’ is more an umbrella term covering the five separate breeds as listed below:
- American Bully
- American Bulldog
- American Pit Bull Terrier
- American Staffordshire Terrier
- Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Blog posts about canine activism:
All dogs deserve and require responsible ownership; however, large or strong breed dogs such as German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Cane Corsos, Huskies, Mastiffs, pitbull-type dogs, and many other strong breeds and mixes require responsible ownership to help ensure everyone’s happiness and safety. Almost all serious dog bite-related incidents (by dogs of all breeds) are the result of a failure of one or more factors related to responsible ownership. There are many resources available for the fundamentals of responsible ownership and this is a topic that can go into a lot of lengthy detail. Below, we selected the factors that we believe are the most critical for responsible ownership and kept our recommendations short and straightforward.
